Via ferrata
Description
The Roca de la Cruz via ferrata is unique due to its granofyre composition. The granofyre is a rock that would be halfway between a granite and a volcanic rock. This is because these rocks actually correspond to an ancient volcano vent from the Upper Ordovician period (430–460 million years ago).
The vegetation that grows on the granofyre soil likes strongly acid soils, and this is due to the abundance of heather.
The Ribes de Freser granófiro is the most extensive and well-known in Catalonia.
